What are Nightshades

"One man's meat is another man's poison, or in this context one animals' meat is another animal's poison"

Nightshade, common name for a family of plants that can cause inflammatory responses in the body if you are susceptible. The family has about 90 general species and includes crop and garden plants—such as potato, tomato, petunia, tobacco, and eggplant.

The poisonous nightshades contain alkaloids of three major types: tropane, found in belladonna jimsonweed, and henbane pyridine, in tobacco; and steroid, in some members of the nightshade family.

The family also includes several important food plants, e.g., the white potatoes (Solanum tuberosum), the tomato Lycopersicon esculentum), red peppers (except black pepper, which is a Piperocaine), or pimientos (species of Capsicum).
